We were delighted to see lots of new recruits to the U6 andalso some existing players from last year who stayed down due to age, we also had some fantastic help with Jayne, Thierry and Joe signing up to be new coaches whilst Peter and John joined us from the U11 and their experience and expertise was fantastic.
The players made steady progress and concentration levels have improved, and we had a brilliant day out in Clontarf with our first Blitz of the season we some good wins!
We look forward to finishing with our blitz at Belvedere and our last training sessionon 30th April being a fun session with the parents joining in.
I have thoroughly enjoyed doing the admin for the U6 over the last two years, however I will be standing down as Admin so would appreciate if another parent will step forward for next season
The U7’s skills progression took huge steps forward this season. Each week we’ve had 18 – 20 players come for training and we focused on 3 areas attacking, defending and most importantly having fun. We worked hard on passing, looking for space, running forward and supporting the player with the ball. For defending where we focused on line defence across the pitch and tagging with 2 hands.
Throughout the year we competed in 7 blitzes. I’m proud to say Suttonians came away with an overall winning record. This is where we saw the real improvements and progression come through from all players. From our first blitz in October in Suttonians to our final blitzes in Clontarf and Old Belvo, the transformation by the teams has been amazing.
We are all looking forward to the new season next year, where we will start tackling!
