Under 15/16s
After our great success last year, this year proved slightly more difficult as we also lost some key players to the Schools Junior cup at key times of the season.
However, in games played since Christmas we have won over 50% of them with some notable victories against Wanderers early season and also Malahide in March, which was probably our best game of the season.
The skills levels of the team has continuously increased and without a doubt, we are probably one of the best “passing team” at this age level.
We now have a very settled squad, many of whom have been with the team since Under 6s. The closeness among the guys is great to see and it is clear many of them will remain friends for life.
As an indicator of the team’s success and player development, it was great to see both Hugh Flood and Dylan O’Grady play for Belvedere College in the Junior Cup. In addition, 5 members of the squad (Sean O’Connor, Sean L’Estrange, Ciaran Brennan, Donal Hickey and Ronan Patterson) have participated in the Leinster Metropolitan Trials. Congratulations to all.
The recruitment of new players is very important as we need to add another 5 players to the squad. We look forward to welcoming new members in 2017/2018.
Finally, on behalf of the coaches (Stephen Hughes, Des Flood and Marc Kaveh) we would like to thank the team for their participation, hard work and at all times good humour and to the parents for the support.
