Under 10s

Another fantastic year for the U10s who have developed their game extremely well since last season. This years numbers were far more consistent but given that the Communions were last year that makes perfect sense. Have had an average on 25 players over the course of the season with 2 new players joining up.

Its been an extremely busy year and without our wonderful coaches to back the lads up we have seen major developments in terms of their game structure. For this year we focused on perfecting the basics such as tackling and passing. The lads have also come on leaps and bounds with working.

in the ruck and protecting the ball well. It was also our first year to train on the Fridays from 6.45‐ 7.30pm before any weekend matches and I feel it paid off with some fantastic results on the pitch.

Overall it was an extremely successful season with some extremely competitive games against some strong opposition including Clontarf. We learned a lot from better teams which helped improve our overall game and speed up our passing game and spread out play against the bigger teams.

Our highlight of the year was the Clontarf blitz in which the teams produced some brilliant and consistent displays as well as the weather being the sunniest day of the year!!

We will round up this year on Sunday with an awards presentation as well as a home blitz vs Coolmine and Malahide.

There will be awards for POY, Coaches POY, Passing award and I’ve included a small reward for our Coach of the year Mervyn Fogarty whose has inspired us all this year!

Think its about time a coach got some reward for all the dedication as well as the parents supporting the players. We look forward the next season with a solid platform to build on and more outings planned also.
