Under 11s

This year we had approximately 25 boys at the start of the season, and after Christmas we gained another 4 players.

These players have managed to slot right into the game, as if they have played with us since under 6s. We have had great commitment from players and their parents, both for training and travelling to away matches.

It was a busy season this year, arranging plenty of friendly matches in the month of September with Westmanstown, Malahide and Skerries to get the lads back into the play of games.

To create a similar ratio to last year of 50% training, 50% matches, we organized matches on all our free weekends. This was of great benefit to the lads, who have become a real credit to their coaches, displaying excellent quality rugby.

This year we also took part in the Joe Moran Festival meeting clubs further afield such as Tullamore, Nenagh and Banbridge, with great results, 3 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss.

However, the season finale, took place again in Athy, at the The Athy Camp out Festival, where our very brave coaches took 21 players down to camp in a field and to play some rugby!

The lads played against teams, such Fermoy, Ardee, Cobh, Carlow and Limerick to name a few. The games were hard fought, very skilled, in a win lose or draw. The boys behaved impeccably both on and off the pitch, with these boys the future of rugby looks bright.

Our Facebook and twitter pages have being kept up to date by Conor Clarke, our coach, team photographer, and social media guru. This shows all matches and blitz’s being well documented.
